Before the Disappearance

Madison was facing graduation and an expected move to Yale. She was frightened by the idea of leaving Foxglove, her family, her classmates, and Victoria behind. The people around her had known one another since childhood; she kept trying to hold everything together even as it was already separating.

Near the end of the school year, she pushed Jessica to spend time with her and framed almost everything as something they had to do before time ran out. Jessica understood this as Madison interfering in her life. It now reads differently.

On the night before graduation, Madison came home, told Jessica not to stay up too late, and later left her graduation gown behind. At midnight, she and the other members of the Foxglove 30 were called into the forest.

The Wish

In the recovered vision, Madison sat alone in the school gym and cried. She had been trying to keep the missing students together. Victoria was not with them. Madison said:

No thunder followed. No obvious spell circle appeared. The wish was still heard. A fairy granted it. The magic left a permanent impact point in the gym and opened a fissure through Foxglove County. The wish did not merely preserve a moment; it helped create the conditions that trapped, copied, repeated, and altered everyone involved.

What Happened to Her Among the 30

Tommy reported that Madison was initially the most devastated of the group. She tried to keep everyone together and kept asking for Victoria.

Later testimony indicates something worse: the 30 have killed Madison over and over. The method and reason are not consistently documented. What is consistent is the loop: violence, death, return, repetition. She has been treated as victim, threat, sacrifice, and object of blame by the same people she once tried to hold together.

Connection to the Echo

The Echo entered Madison’s computer before the disappearance and later traveled through her watch. Madison eventually warned Jessica that the Echo was not what Jessica believed it to be. It has used Madison’s voice, image, body, or identity as leverage often enough that recognition can no longer be treated as proof.

What Jessica Wants Now

Jessica’s wish is not simply to reverse the disappearance or restore an untouched version of her sister. She wants Madison to be safe, alive somewhere, and able to choose.

The message Jessica ultimately sent gives Madison an exit that is not another command: come home if she wants to; ask to be released if she does not.
