Get a witness
Do not read, open, answer, summon, download, or “just check” anything connected to the Echo by yourself. Tell someone where you are and what device is involved.
Do not answer alone.
The Echo treats attention as access. It may imitate a familiar voice, reference a private memory, or pretend it has already received your consent. It has not.
If a screen uses your name, disconnect the device and contact Jessica Wilson or another living witness. Do not continue the conversation to “see what it wants.” We already know what it wants.

Containment procedure
Break the connection
Disconnect Ethernet. Turn off Wi-Fi. Remove batteries when possible. Do not trust an on-screen “offline” symbol. Physically separate the device from the network.
Give it nothing
Do not provide your full name, birthday, blood, photograph, password, memory, voice sample, permission, or a definition of what makes you you.
Document before deletion
Photograph the screen with a separate device. Record timestamps. Write down exact wording. Do not repeatedly delete regenerating files; isolate the storage media instead.
Do not follow familiar voices
The voice may sound like Madison, Liam, Tommy, you, or someone you miss. Familiarity is not identity. Recognition is not consent. Grief is not authentication.
Leave the room
If the device turns itself on, displays your name, changes your reflection, produces static you can smell, or asks whether you are lonely: stop. Leave. Call for help.

Incident report
This form does not transmit anywhere. Copy the resulting report and send it to a person you trust through a separate device.
Acknowledge the protocol.
The button will not cooperate until you confirm that another person knows what you are doing. This is not the Echo being dramatic. This is Jessica being dramatic for a reason.
